Permanently rising requirements in prevention of epidemic diseases as well as during regular disinfection in the intensive rearing of animals require careful and responsible selection of disinfectants. This is valid for breeding-, reproduction- and fattening operations for swine, cattle and poultry.

Further fields of use are found in animal shelters and institutes in the field of small animal-keeping.

The "Richtlinie des Bundesministeriums für Ernährung, Landwirtschaft und Verbraucherschutz über Mittel und Verfahren für die Durchführung der Desinfektion bei anzeigenpflichtigen Tierseuchen", (the guideline of the federal ministry for food, agriculture and consumer-protection, covering ways and means of carrying out disinfection in case of notifiable animal-epidemies), dated February 2007, demands, among others, employment of DVG-listed disinfectants. These are biocide-products of the type 3 "Produkte für die Veterinärhygiene (products for veterinary hygiene)".
