MENNO Florades Kanister

In plant production, cleaning and disinfection is essential to prevent the spread of pathogens and harmful organisms. Contamination on greenhouse surfaces, crates, tools and machines as well as on people's hands, clothing or shoes can lead to the rapid spread of pathogens, which can result in significant yield losses.

Effective disinfection after thorough cleaning is therefore part of good professional practice. It is the basis for successful crop management.

You can choose from the plant protection product MENNO Florades for disinfection against phytopathogens and various biocides for disinfection against harmful organisms that can be harmful to humans, animals and the environment.

New regulations for the supply and use of biocidal products have now come into force in accordance with the ChemBiozidDV.

Since January 1, 2025, the use of certain biocidal products has required expertise in accordance with Section 15c of the Hazardous Substances Ordinance (GefStoffV) # Section 15c GefStoffV - individual standard.

This applies to the following biocides:

  • User categories "trained professional user" and, if applicable, with the "professional user"

  • Acutely toxic category 1, 2 and 3,

  • carcinogenic, germ cell mutagenic or toxic for reproduction category 1A and 1B,

  • specific target organic category 1 SE or RE and / or

The use of MENNO Florades eliminates this additional expense for the farm. As MENNO Florades is the only plant protection product approved by the BVL for disinfection (PPP list). For the gardener or farmer, a certificate of competence in plant protection is therefore still sufficient for the purchase and application.

The main purpose of plant protection products is to protect plants from harmful organisms. The distinction is based on the main purpose of use.

However, biocides are often recommended for disinfection in agriculture and horticulture without any specific purpose. However, biocidal products are only used against harmful organisms that can be harmful to humans, animals and the environment. Additional training is now required for the sale and purchase of these products.

Biocidal products are regulated by a separate European Regulation (EU) No. 528/2012 (Biocidal Products Regulation) and are therefore not covered by plant protection legislation. In addition biocides are regulated by other national regulations (BAuA - Biocide Ordinance - Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health).

The use of the approved plant protection product MENNO Florades in accordance with the application regulations is therefore still possible without additional training for employees. The effectiveness of the disinfection has been proven by testing in accordance with EPPO guidelines (EPPO standards).
